Textured Layers

Chambray Button Down - Target (similar here), Tank - Gossip Boutique, Scarf - Target (exact one here), Leggings - (Forever21), Boots - Cathy Jean, Hoops - Francesa's, Crosbody - Lucky Brand

With the weather being all crazy here in California, layering is the only way to stay comfortable throughout the day.  So my outfit is just that--easy, comfy but still stylish. And can you believe I found this gorgeous scarf at Target? I absolutely love the rich bursts of red in contrast to the dark blue.  It definitely adds texture and layers to the rest of my outfit. What are your favorite ways to spruce up an outfit?

Dress your Blazer

Navy Blazer - Forever 21 (similar here), Dress - Foreign Exchange, Shoes - BCBG (similar here and here), Bag - Michael Kors Hamilton Tote
Soooo did I mention I'm completely obsessed with blazers?  I think my love for them began when I was in high school and I would flip through the celebrity magazines and saw Kate Middleton would always wear them with everything. I've been wearing them ever since and always look for new styles, cuts and textures.  I've had this navy blue one for a couple of years and given that I only paid about 20 bucks--I'd say it was a great purchase! Hope you enjoy and thank you for stopping by!

Jacket/Blazer - Target (old),  Blouse - Urban Outfitters,  Belt - American Eagle,  Jeggings - Gossip Boutique, Brown Pumps - Forever21
When I get dressed I pretty much always go for comfort.  I love experimenting with different outfits and shoes, but at the end of the day I really just want to be comfy.  So this outfit is my basic everyday uniform--jeggings (or any type of stretchy but slimming pants), a loose blouse or tank, a nice fitted blazer or jacket to pull the outfit together and some flats or heels.  Seriously, blazers and jackets can completely transform any outfit.  Which is why I have a pretty extensive collection and am constantly on the hunt for more!  What is your go to outfit? I'd love to know! Thank you for stopping by and Happy Friday!

Glam in Plaid

Plaid Shirt- Gap (identical style here), Tank- Gossip Boutique,  Skirt - Victoria's Secret, Booties - Stuart Weitzman (similar here and here), Bag - Forever 21

I hope I'm not the only one who is obsessed with plaid!  Ironically, I used to not care too much for it because it reminded me of, well you know...kilts. Apparently the joke is on me because plaid is everywhere this season and it is such a  fun, but versatile pattern that looks great on everyone.  Whether you're a fan or not, plaid seems to be sticking around for a long time, which is great because I simply can't get enough!

Oh, Aubergine

Sweater- Francesca's Boutique (different color here), Scarf- Francesca's,  Pants - Target (similar style here, on sale!),  Boots- Aldo (old) loving these ones too,  Bag- Michael Kors Hamilton Tote

Stripes. Aubergine. Riding boots. Pretty much my favorite combo ever!
You can never go wrong with stripes--especially if we're talking about a comfy, slouchy sweater.  And we all know riding boots are never going out of style. They remain a staple in my wardrobe and I think its time I get a new pair since mine are looking a little worn (I'll take any excuse to shop for new boots, hehe). I wore this outfit yesterday for doing some errands after work and taking my dogs out to the doggy park.  Hope you liked my outfit and thank you for stopping by!

The Mini

Shirt-Target (Summer 13), Skirt - Express (similar style here -on sale!), Shoes-Zara (Old), Bag - Michael Kors (more colors here)
We have been having a bit of a heat wave these past few days here in central California, so I busted out my favorite mini skirt. It goes with anything and is perfect for those days when you don't want to think too much about what you're going to wear but yet you want to look put together. I wore this out for a movie date with my husband, although I swapped the heels for some cute flats because I'm hopeless and literally can't walk in heels for too long without tripping, falling or whining like a baby because of how painful they are--I know, super sexy. The shirt I got from Target during the summer and I have it worn it with everything! White jeans, blue jeans, khakis--its so versatile! That is the key thing I look for when shopping for clothes, versatility. Hope you enjoy!

Shirt - Foreign Exchange,  Pants - Express - similar styles here,  Belt - Gossip Boutique,  Shoes - Mango (Old) similar style here, Watch - Anne Klein

Happy Friday!
This week has been crazy hectic and long!  I cheered myself up with my favorite pair of bright blue skinny jeans and paired it with a neutral blouse.  I was hesitant to buy a pair of blue pants like these because I didn't know what I would wear it with.  You know when you're shopping and you like something but then you think you don't have anything that would go with it?  Well, surprisingly these have been so easy to style.  I've even worn them to work! Paired with a casual tank, fitted blazer and some pumps and voila! You got yourself a professional but fun work outfit.  Oh and my Mango heels  are my obsession--be prepared to see them a lot around here.

Dress- Target (Summer 2013) similar style here,  Belt- American Eagle, Watch - Michael Kors, Bag- Lucky Brand- similar style here,  Shoes- Forever21 (old)

Military inspired jackets are everywhere this season and as the weather starts to cool down, it is the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. You can really transform any outfit with a great jacket, blazer, or coat.  The J.Crew field jacket is the perfect military jacket and is definitely on my wish list, (my wish list is getting insanely long)!  My lucky brand bag is seriously one of my favorites! It is the perfect little purse for any season and it has that worn in leather look that I absolutely love.

Hope you enjoyed and Happy October!
